Songwriting Competition


Our songwriting competition has now closed. We’d like to Thank You for participating in it and taking the time to record a song with our musicians!

We’ve received hundreds of amazing submissions and we’re very excited to see what our panel of judges will decide.

Our judges will now receive the songs and decide on the 3 winners which we’ll announce on December 22nd - stay tuned!

We are proud to announce a panel of 3 world class judges to accompany us in selecting the 3 best songs.

Magdalena Jensen

Magdalena Jensen is the Creative Director and co-founder at Balance It Out Records.
Having worked in the European music industry, based in Poland then London, for 12+ years, Magdalena now works to develop artists as Creative Director in the label she co-founded, Balance It Out. Magdalena loves to get hands-on in the “brand” aspects of an artists career, using her training as a coach and years as an artist manager to develop a cohesive visual language, together with artists and A&Rs, to complement their music.

Magdalena has worked closely with a variety of music industry partners such as The Orchard, Keychange, EMMA, Playground Music, Le Bureau Export, Baltic Studios, Music Norway, Converse and many more. Besides that, living with a professional playlist curator means that music of all kinds is always on in the house.

Nigel Harding (VP Artist Marketing at Deezer)

Nigel Harding is the Global VP of Artist Marketing at Deezer, where he leads the global Artist Marketing team. He is responsible for developing strategies and tactics to drive listening and fan growth through artist-driven initiatives. Nigel and his team work directly with artists, labels and managers on a number of campaigns, including Deezer NEXT - an artist first program designed to support emerging artists around the world.

Stephen Budd

Stephen Budd is a director of artist and producer management company Stephen Budd Music Ltd, the OneFest Festival, of Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project and is the co-founder of the NH7 Weekender festivals in India and the DMZ Peace Train Festival in Korea.
He is a co-executive producer of Amnesty International and Sofar Sounds’ ‘Give A Home’ global concert series and created WarChild’s “Passport Back To The Bars concert series and in 2021 The Music Venues Trust Passport Back To Our Roots concert series to raise money for Covid-19 endangered live music venues.
